Be still and know that a quiet mind can hear intuition over fear.
Be still and know that inner peace is what gives us true power.
Be still and know that if you want love, look within.
Be still and know that middle ground is the holy ground.
The power of meditation and a consistent mindful practice has become a “must have” in today’s day and age. We live in a world that’s addicted and afflicted to distraction. So it’s essential to have a practice that teaches us to slow down, pause and be still. So let’s break down my quote from the top.
Be still and know that a quiet mind can hear intuition over fear: When the mind gets quiet, we can listen better. We can listen to our heart, gut wisdom and intuition. When we get quiet, the noise of fear, limiting thoughts and old stories goes away. There is great freedom when can always hear the truth.
Be still and know that inner peace is what gives us true power: We give our power away all the time when we take things personally, when life doesn’t go our way, when we suffer a setback, when we are worrying about the opinions of others, and when we create mental and emotional drama to what we label as “stressful situations.” However, there are no stressful situations, only stressful responses to a given situation. And with that mindset, we are strong on the inside and fluid on the outside. This is what the “flow state” is all about.
Be still and know that if you want love, look within: So many people look for love and validation outside of themselves, and it’s because they are trying to fill a void that they can’t fill themselves. All the love we will ever need is within us. And we can only love another as much as we are willing to love ourselves. The moment we stop seeking outside ourselves to find it is the moment we understand what true love and kindness is all about.
Be still and know that middle ground is the holy ground: Being in the middle is a powerful and balanced place to live. Not too high, not too low. Just learning to ride the waves of life in the middle. This doesn’t mean just going through the motions of life. This DOES mean we do still take action, be inspired and work hard on ourselves to find that place of peace and connection.
My hope for you is to remember to be still. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is do nothing at all. And even though it may feel like you’re doing nothing, I promise you are doing something powerful for your mind, body and soul. This “ancient” practice of meditation and mindfulness has profound relevance for our present day lives. So today, our work is get into action, be still and practice!
