Letting Go of Negative Thoughts

Going down the rabbit role of your negative thoughts can be an energy draining and unproductive way of living your life. These thoughts not only rob you of being able to enjoy the present moment; they prevent you from taking chances, getting into relationships, going for that job or desired promotion, and ultimately living a purpose-driven life.

The first step in cultivating awareness of your thoughts is to pay attention to them. Most of us are walking around on autopilot not realizing the inner dialogue and noise that is happening between our ears. We don’t realize how much that inner dialogue is actually creating our perspective and reality.
If you want to change the way you think, what you believe or how you feel, it starts with shifting your thoughts and changing how you perceive reality. You can’t control everything that happens to you but you can control how you respond to the situation and that includes how much time and energy you think about it and what those thoughts are.
Practice 
If you’re not sure where to start, try a simple practice of focusing on your breath for three minutes. When your mind drifts away from your breath (which it will many times), simply just notice the thoughts pulling you away, and then come back to breath. Every time you “come back” to the breath, you are practicing letting go of thoughts, and as a result, you will cultivate more awareness and focus into your life!
Try it for one week straight and let me know how it goes.
